Underdog Upsets Zags
The underdog University of San Diego men's basketball team upset number 22 Gonzaga last night to win the West Coast Conference tournment and the automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. The Toreros had a 19-4 run in the second half to overtake the Zags and win 69-62. USD was the number 3 seed in the WCC tourney played in there home gym in San Diego where the night befoe the beat the number 2 seed St. Marys in double overtime for the right to play the number 1 seed Gonzaga. The Bulldogs had won the last 4 WCC titles are more than likely going to be in the tournament but it will be intersting to see if a small conference like the WCC will get three teams in this year St. Mary's won 25 games and was ranked for awhile this season. Great job USD and good luck in the big dance.

San Diego's first year coach Bill Grier was a long time assistant to Mark Few (16 seasons), so that was also really interesting. Although, I really am disappointed in Gonzaga. They should be sweeping through these conference tournaments like a fat kid sweeps through hostess boxes. Aggravated I am.
Nobody beats the Toreros at Jenny Craig's place.
