Game Story One
Despite valiant efforts, the Idaho State mens' track team was only able to capture fourth place in the 2008 Big Sky Indoor Track Championships. Brad Silvester came up big winning one of only two gold medals for ISU. Silvester won the men's heptathlon with a score of 5073, only eleven points ahead of second. The other lone medal came from the men's distance medley. Saheed Kahn, Eric Strand, Zac Barrett, and John Ricardi ran a time of 10:07 beating second place by five full seconds. Sam Pierson played a role in pole vaulting taking fifth and adding points for Idaho State. "It's all about feeling it," Pearson said, " It's about having a free mind and focusing your body warmth towards your jump." The competition for Big Sky Track looks to be fierce for the next couple of years. "The competition has always been good," Pierson said, "look forward for the outdoor season. The athletes feel it more and compete harder." The Bengals are already in training for the outdoor season and this year looks to be their best to compete for another Big Sky Championship.
