The Greatest ISU Sporting Event I Have Ever Seen
For those of you who were not at Holt Arena Sunday afternoon let me tell you one thing. You may have missed one of the best basketball games played on this campus and it was by far the best game of this season. I know I am one of the harshest critics of ISU athletics but with performances like that I and the other 2327 in attendance may have a change of heart. Things in Holt seemed different when I walked through the door maybe it was the sound of the band actually at a game (at least one I have been to) or maybe because the game was televised something seemed different. As for what happenend on the court it was fantastic the Bengals were in it from the begining and so was the crowd. That was the loudest I have ever heard the arena for a basketball game in the three years I have been on campus. NAU started the second half on fire and built an 11 point lead but then the big momentum changer happenend Coach O'Brien was ejected for picking up his second technical foul. After he was ejected the play on the court and the sound in side holt could rival any of the best teams in the country. All the excitement continued for the rest of the second half especially when the game winning basket went through with 7.5 seconds left. I have seen a bunch of great sporting events in my lifetime but of all the games I have been to at ISU this was no doubt the best I have ever seen and I could only hope there more events like this to come.

I couldn't argee with you more! What an exciting weekend. After beating down Sacramento State Friday evening nothing could have been sweeter than a victory over Northern Arizona University.
As far as I know this is the first time the team has won both games on a double game weekend.
Overcoming agressive players and poor reffing on Friday night, the Bengals had to be geared up for Sunday's play.
The Bengals went on to face even more poor calls Sunday. Stucki seemed to be unable to cast an agressive look at the oposition without receiving a call. Not to mention, losing Coach O'Brien on a technical foul.
The poor calls, however, just rallied the crowd and turned up the heat in The Jungle, making for one sizzling weekend!
I was pumped! The crowd going crazy and not holding back on anything and the Bengals were holding their ground throughout the majority of the game.
In the press conference coach swanson said that they were joking in the locker room that Donnie Carson's family must have been in the stands. But, he did say that the support from the crowd definitely boosted the Bengals and helped lead them to victory.
What an amazing game though! I was amazed at how high Donnie Carson can jump and Amorrow Morgan leading the team with 21 points! WOW! The sophomores are stepping it up!
Also, Amorrow mentioned that having Coach O'Brien removed from the game fired the team up...and as Melinda said, the fans got fired up about it too!
That was an entertaining game to watch up until the point where emotions boiled over and our coach embarrassed the university once again. I left the game in disgust. That is why I will be voting no on February 5th.
phil you can not honestly tell me that because the coach got tossed from a game that you would let that affect your vote for something that wold great for isu and the city. besides that remember frank said there is a large announcement set for wed. about bengal village.
