Pocatello is an ideal town for a college. A loyal consistant fan base is easily aquired in a town such as this. There have been some great teams in ISU's history, as well as some that have not been so good. Living in a small town, a college such as this can have great support from the community in each of the athletic events. The attendance at games is far below what it is capable of.
Seeing larger schools and other athletic teams and the support they receive, we need to realize we are a Division 1 college athletic school also. ISU has the potential to be great with good teams and a loyal fan base. The community and the students have the opportunity to make our school known. With more attendance at games, teams are more likely to compete better. As students and as a community we can take pride in our school and support the student athletes in their talents.
These aspects can only improve the atmosphere of Idaho State Athletics and create a better image.

excellent comments. The question then I would ask would be as a reporter is it your obligation to be rah rah for the home time in order to change this negative trend or as a reporter are you supposed to remain neutral?
In my mind, it is possible to be "two-faced" reporter. You can be rah rah, but be informative at the same time. It's important that you exterminate the possibilities of one dominating the other.
I agree completely. I was very disappointed when I came to ISU to discover we had a better student section at my high school than we do here. If we could get a bigger fan base the teams would perform better and we could be a real threat in the Big Sky.
