Holt being sponsered
I heard that Hold Arena was offered to be redone by Anheuser-Busch, the company who makes Budweiser and other beers. I was told they would redo Hold if they would be the main sponsor of the arena, but the city of Pocatello rejected the offer. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but it sounds like it could have happened. Does anyone know anything about this?

I haven't heard anything about this but if it is true, I want to know why it was rejected. I understand the community we live in and I realize who the company is that wants to donate but I think it is a great offer. I want to know who makes the decision to accept or reject these decisions and understand a little more of why.
The decision would have been made by ISU. The city has no say in what happens at the Holt Arena because they do not own it.
I haven't heard about that. But the fact that they don't serve alcohol at games may be a part of the decision-making process IF this is true. Having Budweiser as a main sponsor would encourage drinking in a n arena were it is not allowed.
I would find it odd that Budweiser would even make an offer like that. I have some buddies that work there and I can ask them...see if they know anything about that.
